Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I park?

There is plenty of parking available in the adjacent lot behind the spa. Additionally, there are three spots available in the front and south side of the building. There is also ample street parking available on Powell Street, Oakland Street and Pressler Ave. You may use other nearby private lots after 5pm and all day on weekends. Towing is otherwise enforced by neighboring lot owners.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

We discourage our clients from bringing children to any treatment appointments. It is an unsafe environment for children who are not monitored at all times. However, we do see clients as young as 10 years of age for acne and blemish issues.

How often do you treat male clients?

Often! Today’s man is very spa savvy. Proper skin care and looking great are the keys to a successful man’s regimen. All of our services are available for men and women.

I have an upcoming special event. How far in advance should I schedule a facial?

If it is your first facial, we recommend 10 days to two weeks in advance of your event to allow ample time to see how your skin will react to treatments. If you are a regular client, services can be performed as early as one day in advance and will be determined by your esthetician.

Why are extractions important?

Extractions remove debris and congestion to help clear up skin problems and improve texture and tone. A thorough extraction session is crucial to the outcome of the treatment and absolutely mandatory for anyone with acne and blemish prone skin.

Do extractions hurt?

They can hurt, but there are so many immeasurable benefits to clearing up acne and congestion. The benefits of a clear complexion far outweigh the discomfort.

Is it necessary for me to use professional products at home?

Absolutely. Professional products contain more active ingredients than those bought in a store and those ingredients target specific problems yielding greater results.

Are there any store-bought brands that compare with professional products?

No. Store bought products are made up of too many chemicals and fillers and very few active ingredients. Many of these products can be misused and can actually cause skin problems instead of helping them.

How do I get an appointment with the owner?

If you would like to make an appointment with the spa owner, Azure Grillo, know that you must give us a more advanced call to guarantee a desired appointment time. Azure’s appointments can be booked out for up to 12 weeks in advance. Once you have received your first treatment with Azure, it is recommended you make your consecutive appointments for the year before you leave.

Why is toner important?

Toner serves two purposes. 1, when used after cleansing, it removes residual debris and makeup. 2, it brings your skin’s pH to the optimum level to receive skin products. When the skin is properly pH balanced, products work more efficiently and effectively.

Do you do manicures and pedicures?

Not at this time.

I’m a soon-to-be-bride. Do you have a treatment program designed to prepare my skin for the wedding?

Yes, and because everyone’s skin and goals are different, a specific treatment plan can be discussed with your esthetician that will yield the results you want for your special day.

For how long should I refrain from the use of skin-related medications?

Please do not use any skin medications for at least 7 days before your appointment. The use of harsh chemicals, acids and retinols can have a negative impact on your treatment and can hinder your esthetician’s ability to help you with your concerns.
Once you have met with one of our professionals, you will better understand how you can incorporate the use of skin medications as well as nourishing products to feed and protect the skin by working together to develop your personal skin treatment plan.

Do you treat children and teens?

Yes! Many of our clients start with us as young teens. It is a parent’s duty to protect the self-esteem of a child. Acne has a major impact on a teen’s ability to cope with life’s tough decisions. To avoid embarrassing skin issues it is important for children and teens to learn how to properly care for their skin and prevent damage by establishing healthy skin habits.
